Not long after making headlines for telling the BBC that the recent Harvey Weinstein scandal is “tragic” for the women involved and “sad for Harvey that his life is so messed up,” accused child molester Woody Allen released a statement to Variety explaining that he didn’t actually mean what he said and the outrage “surprised” him.
He wrote:
“When I said I felt sad for Harvey Weinstein I thought it was clear the meaning was because he is a sad, sick man. I was surprised it was treated differently. Lest there be any ambiguity, this statement clarifies my intention and feelings.”
It really doesn’t shock me that Allen is so out of touch. He is a busy man, after all, who makes a movie a year and the occasional 6-episode series for Amazon.

“I demand that I sleep seven hours and sleep eight if I can, but I also have babies at home so that doesn’t always work. But I have a window for sleeping that is seven hours every night.”
