While scrolling through E! Online’s regularly updated slideshow, Today’s Hot Photos, I lingered on an image of actress and recent courtroom victor Rebel Wilson standing on a sidewalk in New York City. “Old Hollywood!” the caption read. “The actress rocks a classic old school look in New York City.” There was something her styling—the dress or the hat or the bag or maybe all three—that screamed “THIS IS IMPORTANT,” but I couldn’t figure out what it was. At least not immediately.
I mean, it should have been obvious, and I’m sure many of you recognized Wilson’s dress and hat within two seconds of seeing the photo at the top of this post. But it took several minutes of doing other things before suddenly returning to the E! Online slideshow and thinking, Wait just a tick. That’s exactly what Julia Roberts is wearing in the Pretty Woman scene when she returns to those awful saleswomen on Rodeo Drive and dumps on them for making a ‘big mistake’ for kicking her out of their store.
The only bummer about this look is that it is not, as E! Online’s caption suggests, a casual Tuesday outfit. Wilson was in costume for a new movie called Isn’t It Romantic, which also stars Liam Hemsworth and Adam Devine. In any case, she looks great.
