Wait, Did Donald Trump Just Compliment a Woman?

FINAL-QUESTION.mpeg

At the close of the debate Sunday night, something incredible happened—Donald Trump complimented a woman on something unrelated to her appearance.

“My question to both of you is, regardless of the current rhetoric, would either of you name one positive thing that you respect in one another,” Karl Becker, an undecided voter who has definitely dealt with fighting preschoolers before, asked in the last question of the night.

And dammit, they both gave it an adorable go. “I certainly will,” Hillary said. “I think that’s a very fair and important question. I respect his children. His children are incredibly able and devoted and I think that says a lot about Donald. I don’t agree with nearly anything else he says or does, but I respect that and think that is something that as a mother and a grandmother is very important to me.”

Yeah yeah, okay. Trump, in turn, gave her what appeared to be a genuine compliment, sort of.

“Well, I consider her statement about my children to be a very nice compliment. I don’t know if it was meant to be a compliment, but I’m proud of my children. they have done a wonderful job and they have been wonderful kids. I consider that a compliment. I will say that about Hillary,” Trump said. “She doesn’t quit and doesn’t give up. I respect that. I tell it like it is. She is a fighter. I disagree with much of what she is fighting for. I do disagree with her judgment in many cases, but she fights hard and doesn’t quit or give up, but that is a good trait.”

Someone check on hell, it has surely frozen over.
