Trump Comes Full Circle, Finds a Mexican to Blame For His Own Sexual Assault Allegations

In an absolutely dazzling bookend to this mass hallucination of a campaign, the Wall Street Journal reports that Donald Trump plans to blame Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, a New York Times shareholder, for the numerous allegations of sexual assault that have surfaced in the Times and other news outlets this week.

As of this exact moment, in addition to having been caught bragging about sexually assaulting women, Trump has been accused of kissing multiple women without consent, groping a woman sitting next to him on a plane, sexually assaulting a People Magazine writer, groping a woman at Mar-a-Lago, groping a former Miss USA contestant, walking in on pageant contestants—including teen pageant contestants—while they were changing, groping makeup artist Jill Harth, raping his ex-wife Ivana (but “not in the literal sense”), hiring and firing women based on their looks, and staring at Ashley Judd’s breasts, among other things.

A Trump advisor told WSJ that the plan is to position Slim, who has donated to the Clinton Foundation, as a player in a Clinton campaign conspiracy to push news reports of old allegations against Trump.

From WSJ:

“This is totally false,” said Arturo Elias, Mr. Slim’s spokesman. “Of course we aren’t interfering in the U.S. election. We aren’t even active in Mexican politics.” He said the contributions by Mr. Slim to the Clinton Foundation were a matter of public record.

“Carlos Slim is an excellent shareholder who fully respects boundaries regarding the independence of our journalism,” said New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. “He has never sought to influence what we report.”

26 days to go, folks.
