The Hamlet of Montauk Is Also Extremely Embarrassed to Be Involved in This New Bravo Show

As the premiere for Bravo’s new Jersey Shore-looking show, Summer House, looms like an execution date, at least one personality featured on the show is doing major damage control, though they all should, if we’re being honest.

The deeply embarrassing trailer dropped last week featuring prime quotes like this one, intoned by a little weenie who I guaran-fucking-tee you has never banged his mom’s friend’s daughter: “Montauk is, like, your mom’s friend’s daughter who’s a little promiscuous. And by a little—I mean a lot.”

But Montauk, a once-sleepy surf town now home to the most bougie of summer camp-themed hotels and bars, still has some standards. Montauk Chamber of Commerce president Paul Monte was so offended by the show, in fact, that he put out a statement to Page Six pointing out the show was actually filmed somewhere between one and three miles away from Montauk.

“Bravo falsely puts out that ‘Summer House’ was filmed in a Montauk house,” Monte tells the gossip page. “In fact, the house was located in Amagansett... Furthermore, the producers were denied a permit to film on public lands anywhere in East Hampton Town, and that includes the hamlet of Montauk.”

I’m just saying Southampton would never have let things get this far.
