Tabloid Paper Reaches New Low, Hacks Murdered Girl's Phone

When Milly Dowler, 13, went missing in 2002, investigators were misled and her desperate family was temporarily cheered. That's because they believed the fact that voicemail messages were being deleted from her phone meant she was still alive. In fact, the Rupert Murdoch-owned News Of The World was deleting the messages to make room for more, having illegally hacked into the girl's voicemail. Dowler's murdered body was found six months later; the News' gruesome behavior was discovered only this week.
