Selena Gomez Could Instagram Your Product for Half a Million Dollars

Selena “Kill Em With Kindness” Gomez, is, er, killing the social media advertising game. As the most popular person on Instagram (90.5 million followers), Adweek reports that she could charge about $550,000 to post just one photo of her hawking a product.

Back in December 2015, Adweek estimated that Gomez could feasibly charge around $230,000 for an advertising post. The magazine used D’Marie Group CEO Frank Spadafora’s calculation which “measures 56 metrics including followers, post frequency, engagement, quality of post, click-through and potential to create sales conversions from her social content.”

Gomez is pretty selective about what she posts and the brands she endorses: “It’s interesting that the statistically most influential person on social media is engaged in noticeably less campaigns than other celebrities,” Spadafora says. And she’s said before that she didn’t really go out of her way to amass her Instagram following—but if people want to pay her for her posts, why not?

“It comes in a moment when I capture something happening, and I go, ‘Oh, that would be great for Instagram; I should post it,’” Gomez shared with The Hollywood Reporter this month. “I know it’s boring, but that’s genuinely what I do.”

OK, girl.
