Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber Split Giant Blue Drink During Candy Store Date

Some have tried to mask, or at least deemphasize, the acute nastiness of these past 300-whatever days by declaring the color of the year is “ultra violet” (a good color), or that the word of the year is “feminism” (a fine word and even better practice).

But, let’s be honest, if this year were a drink, it would be blue drink. I say this as someone who can’t stomach the stuff, but putting that aside: it’s showy and distracting, it stains everything it touches, it only gets worse when you add alcohol. It’s 2017.

And if you happen to like blue drink, then you, and Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez agree on something. TMZ reported on Sunday that the recently rekindled couple went on a manic, yet sober date at the Sugar Factory in Seattle. There the two shared a $34 “Ocean Blue,” which translates to 60 ounces of gummy marshmallow sharks, dry ice, and blue sugar liquid.

Bieber comes off appropriately wired in the TMZ report:

“We’re told they were holding hands and laser focused on each other. Justin only broke away briefly when ‘Buttons’ by the Pussycat Dolls came on, ‘cause apparently that’s his jam.”

First came the public kiss, and now we have the public blue drink. What’s next on the agenda? Public karaoke performing? Public wearing sunglasses in an airport terminal? I am excited to see what 2018 will bring.
