Netflix will be releasing “A Midwinter’s Tale,” a special holiday episode of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, as part of its slate of seasonal programming. Satan riding to the aid of Christmas is a weird twist in the war on Christmas, but okay.
Netflix released a holiday teaser reel today, including a whole bunch of mega-cheesy attempts to compete with Hallmark and Lifetime and every other channel offering its own peppermint-and-sugar-laden buffet. There’s a sequel to last year’s unexpected hit, A Christmas Prince, as well as a Vanessa Hudgens vehicle titled The Princess Switch. Most promising for me, personally: The Great British Baking Show: Holidays and Nailed It: Holiday. But Sabrina is probably the biggest surprise inclusion, although it shouldn’t be, because the fact that it gets dark at 5pm in December is absolutely the devil’s work.
Also the devil’s work: To use a show for children to convince an adult woman (me) that she needs a freaking headband.
