Rihanna is launching a her own beauty brand next year, so you can stop stockpiling her MAC lipstick in your fridge. Just me? Oh.
The singer, according to WWD, is partnering with Kendo beauty, a division of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (which also owns Sephora), for what will be called Fenty Beauty. The line debuts in fall 2017, and Rihanna is estimated to have made up to $10 million in the deal. Naturally, her new business partners are thrilled at the financial prospects:
“Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a beauty rocket ship that will appeal to a huge and diverse global audience,” said David Suliteanu, chief executive officer of Kendo. “We are aiming for the stars.”
If you’re like me, you’ve been following Rih’s make-up moves since her collaboration with MAC in 2013 and then again in 2014 for her Viva Glam lipstick partnership (it was always sold out, everywhere). Elsewhere, she’s co-designed Puma sneakers and Manolo Blahnik boots. She’s also got seven different fragrances under her umbrella that pull in “about $75 million in wholesale net shipments.”
