Photographer Kiyun asked her friends at Fordham University to "write down an instance of racial microaggression they have faced," and the results are compelling.
If you're not familiar with what a microaggression is, they're surprisingly mundane: what some would call "inoffensive" even. But the reality is that this is how micro aggressions work, by sounding fairly innocuous but carrying a strong racial message. And, as you can tell from Kiyun's important photos, these shitty, shitty messages stick with people.
