Power Renewed for Two More Seasons Because Folks Love Sex, Drugs and Drama

If you enjoy hot sex scenes, frenemies and the intricacies of cocaine sales, congratulations because Power—Starz’s 50 Cent-produced drama starring Naturi Naughton and Omari “I have a fantastic butt” Hardwick—has been renewed.

Power’s third season premiered last Sunday, drawing 2.26 million viewers and breaking the record for the cable network’s highest watched original show. (It beat the time-travel drama Outlander, starring another great butt.) Led by a black woman showrunner named Courtney Kemp, Power will be around for at least two more seasons, according to Variety.

“In today’s content landscape, it is challenging for a series to stand out, but Courtney is a singular voice working in television today, said Starz CEO Chris Albrecht. “In Curtis, we not only have an immense talent but an executive producer who brings a unique perspective, an authentic voice and passionate fan base that has helped in a large part propel the success of the series. … The fans have let it be known loud and clear that they cannot get enough of Ghost, Tommy, Tasha, Angela and Kanan.”

Now we have plenty of time to see if Angela and Ghost can make their romance work while on opposite sides of the law before Tasha, Ghost’s wife, takes them both out. That is, if Tommy, his crazy girlfriend Angela or Kanan don’t do it first.
