Curious about what Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio thinks about Sean Penn’s controversial Rolling Stone interview with El Chapo? I know I am. During an appearance on ABC’s This Week, Rubio told George Stephanopoulos he found it “grotesque.” And he wasn’t referring to the gross fart that Penn let fly during his meeting with the drug lord. I cannot stop thinking about his “traveler’s flatulence.”
“If one of these American actors who have benefited from the greatness of this country, who have made money from our free enterprise system, want to go fawn all over a criminal and a drug trafficker in their interviews, they have a Constitutional right to do it,” Rubio said. “I find it grotesque.” He did point out a positive — the interview led to El Chapo’s recapture. “That’s fantastic. I hope they extradite El Chapo to the United States,” he added.
He also threw some shade at the actor. ‘Sean Penn is not someone I spend a lot of time thinking about. I didn’t even know he was still around,” said Rubio. “I think he made movies a long time ago or something.”
