Louisiana is currently being wracked by devastating floods, damaging some 40,000 homes and leaving many thousands homeless. 13 people have died. Amidst this, malevolent squash rind Donald Trump has announced his plans to visit the state; Governor John Bel Edwards responded by telling him, politely, not to dare show his fucking face for the sole purpose of “a photo-op.”
Trump and Mike Pence are headed to Baton Rouge for some reasons they haven’t made clear (USA Today says the visit is “shrouded in secrecy,” which sounds a little nicer than “cloaked in a layer of bumbling self-regard.”)
Edwards would rather the dream team didn’t do that, his office said in a statement, or at least call before barging into the living room and pissing on the rug:
That statement is far too subtle for Trump to pick up on, but it’s admirably restrained, at least.
