In a bizarre pair of videos uploaded to her Instagram story Tuesday night, actress Lindsay Lohan surprised her 6 million followers (or perhaps she didn’t surprise them at all) by expressing her support for accused sexual harasser and rapist Harvey Weinstein.
In the first clip—on which she used that gradated purple-to-orange filter—Lohan said:
Hi, I’m in Dubai, I’m home. I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now. I don’t think it’s right what’s going on.
In the second—suddenly black & white and accented with the word “Harvey” and a halo emoji—she continued in that inexplicable accent of hers:
I think Georgina [Weinstein] needs to take a stand and be there for her husband. And he’s never harmed me or done anything wrong to me. We’ve done several movies together. So I think everyone needs to stop. I think it’s wrong. So stand up.
The videos have since been deleted from her story.
On a related note, Matt Damon denies recent reports that he and Russell Crowe helped kill a 2004 Weinstein expose written by Sharon Waxman. In a highly publicized piece about the years-long and oft-thwarted campaign to expose Weinstein’s alleged behavior published Sunday on The Wrap, Waxman wrote:
After intense pressure from Weinstein, which included having Matt Damon and Russell Crowe call me directly to vouch for Lombardo and unknown discussions well above my head at the Times, the story was gutted.
In an interview with Deadline published Tuesday, Damon said his and Crowe’s 2004 call to Waxman was about something completely innocuous—a”one-minute” chat about working with producer Fabrizio Lombardo—and that he “is not the story.” He added:
For the record, I would never, ever, ever try to kill a story like that. I just wouldn’t do that. It’s not something I would do, for anybody.
From Weinstein to Damon, and now, from Damon to Affleck. In a Twitter thread from late Tuesday night, One Tree Hill actress and former MTV VJ Hilarie Burton confirmed memories from fans that she was groped by Ben Affleck on TRL in 2003, when she was just 21.
“He also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though,” a Twitter user named Shanice Brim said in response to another tweet about Ben Affleck’s character.
Burton responded to Brim, writing, “I didn’t forget...I was a kid.”
She then posted a video from a TRL Uncensored during which her groping is, as The Daily Beast put it, “presented as a lighthearted glimpse at life behind the scenes on TRL, with a comment suggesting she had laughed off the incident as a form of psychological defense.”
And now, Wendy Williams.
Here she is on discussing allegations that Nelly raped a young woman on Tuesday’s show, saying, “If [the alleged victim] hadn’t put herself in that situation, this would not have happened. Allegedly. And Nelly, you’re too grown.”
And here she is, the next morning, apologizing.
