Kelly Clarkson continues to win America’s heart as a judge on The Voice, and in her all-around joyful attitude about life.
The Daily Mail’s Jane Mulerrrins wrote about a recent performance of Clarkson’s at the Rainbow Room, where she debuted a new song called “Whole Lotta Woman.” During her intro to the new tune, Clarkson addressed the intense media scrutiny her figure has gotten since she won American Idol 15 years ago:
‘Too skinny, too fat, too blonde—so much blah. This is who I am and I’m happy,’ she declared. ‘Happy looks different on everyone.’
‘The media has always been obsessed with it [her size],’ she says. ‘And I have felt conflicted over the years. Do you address it? Do you talk about it? Because then you just add to the noise. But people like me to talk about it, so I don’t really mind carrying that flag. I love that people come up to me and say: “Because you are comfortable in your skin, you have made me more comfortable in mine.” That’s the best compliment ever.’
Will “Whole Lotta Woman” be the antidote to “All About That Bass” we need?
