Is it fair to say Kanye West differentiates not between positive and negative attention, so long as attention is paid? Something to think about in light of this morning’s news, which is that West told a crowd of booing concertgoers that although he didn’t vote this election, he would have voted for Trump if he had.
“I said something that was kind of politically correct,” West said during a break in his concert in California Thursday night. “I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? But I didn’t tell you—I guess I told you—but if I would have voted, I would have voted on Trump.”
Honest-to-god, he said all those words in that order—look, there’s even video:
West reportedly elaborated, saying he’s “glad Trump inspired racists to reveal themselves” and threatened again to run for president in 2020.
Never mind that West donated to Hillary in 2014 and the DNC in 2015. Sometimes it’s just important to feel important.
