James Deen Wins Two ‘Porn Oscars’ Amid Rape Accusations

Despite the recent allegations of rape and sexual abuse brought on by former girlfriends and sex industry performers, porn actor James Deen won two awards at the Adult Video News Awards held in Las Vegas on Saturday. The AVN awards are considered “the Oscars” of the adult entertainment industry.

According to the Wrap, Deen received a total of 33 nominations. He won Best Group Sex Scene, shot by Mason, a female director for Canadian production company Hard X. His second win was for Best Double Penetration Scene, filmed by the company Tushy, which said they would not be hiring Deen in the future.

A panel discussion on consent titled, “Consent Degrees: Yes, No and Everything in Between” was scheduled to take place at the AVN awards on the same day, but was cancelled. Stoya, the first performer to come forward about Deen’s alleged abuse, was originally a panel participant, but chose not to attend the awards.
