Here Comes a New TV Series Based on the Humble Tale of a Little Brand Called Juicy Couture

Ladies and gentlemen, please break out your vintage velour tracksuits from the early aughts. We’ll soon be able to watch the origin story of two fashion superheroes—the women behind Juicy Couture—play out at home on our TV sets, as an hour-long scripted series based on the The Glitter Plan, the memoir written by Juicy Couture founders, Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, is set to air on the Freeform network.

The hyphen-endowed duo became friends while working together at a Los Angeles boutique. With just $200, Juicy Couture was launched, attracting fans such as Paris Hilton and yours truly, before eventually being sold to Liz Claiborne for a cool $53.1 million (though their recent history has been considerably less shiny). “Dreams do come true. It’s Chapter 2, Pam and Gela style, where anything is possible,” Skaist-Levy and Nash-Taylor told Women’s Wear Daily. “Being a TV character seems like the perfect next chapter to our magical fairytale.”

Fake Empire, the production company run by Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, is teaming up with Mila Kunis’ Orchard Farms Productions to create the series. There’s no word on who is being considered to star, but the two friends have already chosen their fantasy castings: Rooney Mara and Jennifer Lawrence.
