Either One Angry Shark or Several Regular Sharks Are Biting the Crap Out of People In Florida

This weekend three people were bitten by sharks within three hours in an area that self-proclaims itself as the “shark-bite capital of the world.”

The danger zone is New Smyrna Beach in Florida, and on Sunday one shark, or several semi-coordinated sharks, embarked on a chomp fest that sent multiple people to the hospital. All three were surfers, with the first attack occurring around 10:40 am on a 43-year-old man who was bitten on his lower leg. Then a 36-year-old was bitten on both hands, and finally at about 1 pm, a 16-year-old was bitten on his inner thigh. The 36-year-old, Chucky Luciano, posted to Facebook about upcoming reconstructive surgery on his hand, along with some vivid pictures:

After the third attack, beach officials began telling people not to enter their water past their knees, according to NBC News. The area is known for shark activity and has signs warning against “dangerous marine life.” WFTV interviewed a surfer named Dougy Watson at the scene, asking if the threat of one very active shark or several moderately active sharks would keep him out of the water, to which he replied, “You’re going to see them...it’s a part of it. You just respect them.”

Can’t believe so many people disrespected the sharks like that.
