“I didn’t think I was going to say this, and I hate to say this, but I’m going to say this,” Donald Trump said during the presidential debate on Sunday. “I am going to instruct my attorney general to appoint a special prosecutor” to investigate Hillary Clinton’s private email server (again).
He went on a bit of a rant about how if anyone else did what Clinton did, their life would be in tatters. If he were president, he said, she would be “in jail.”
“Everything he just said is absolutely false,” Clinton responded, “but I’m not surprised.” Trump closed his eyes and paced back and forth across the stage as she admitted it was a mistake to use a personal email account. He tried to interrupt, but moderator Anderson Cooper shut him down.
“Please allow her to respond. She didn’t talk while you talked.” Trump said that the reason Hillary didn’t interrupt him because “she has nothing to say.” Then he yelled at Anderson Cooper for not bringing up the emails.
