Donald Trump, Climate Change Denier, Is Trying to Protect His Golf Course From Climate Change

Donald Trump, a piece of shit whose only conviction is that he always deserves to win, has engaged in some truly insane climate change denial on Twitter, writing things like “This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop” and “The concept of global warning was invented by and for the Chinese.” So, naturally, Politico reports that:

The New York billionaire is applying for permission to erect a coastal protection works to prevent erosion at his seaside golf resort, Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland, in County Clare.

A permit application for the wall, filed by Trump International Golf Links Ireland and reviewed by POLITICO, explicitly cites global warming and its consequences — increased erosion due to rising sea levels and extreme weather this century — as a chief justification for building the structure.

Former South Carolina Representative Bob Inglis, a Republican who supports action to prevent global warming, told Politico: “Donald Trump is working to ensure his at-risk properties and his company is trying to figure out how to deal with sea level rise. Meanwhile, he’s saying things to audiences that he must know are not true. … You have a soft place in your heart for people who are honestly ignorant, but people who are deceitful, that’s a different thing.”

Trump’s energy advisor is a noted climate change skeptic, and the trash candidate has continued to hold the good old trash line. (He’s also said that the form of climate change we should be worrying about is... nuclear weapons... which is so incredibly ‘80s of him.) But nearly all of the Democrats he will be trying to court away from Hillary, along with two-thirds of the voting public generally—and more than half of avowed Trump supporters—believe that climate change is happening (though only a third of his supporters are actually concerned, which is wonderful). This is to say that Trump will probably flip on this issue soon.
