After a stand off with police that lasted the better part of Tuesday, Chris Brown has been arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Earlier today, we reported that Brown had been locked in a stand off with the police after Miss California Regional 2016 Baylee Curran called the police saying the singer had pulled a gun on her after reportedly admiring some of his jewelry. According to BuzzFeed News, Brown’s people also refused to give Curran her phone until she signed a non-disclosure agreement. Curran fled the residence after these incidents occurred –smart move, honestly – and called the police. During the stand off, Brown also tossed a duffel bag full of drugs and guns out of his window and told the police, “Come and get me!” The police, for what it’s worth, did just that.
Chris Brown stans far and wide came down on Curran for calling the police, but she defended herself in an Instagram post that has since been deleted, saying “Do you all honestly think I wanted this and I caused this? If somebody put a gun to your head, what would you do? Call the police.” Can’t really argue with that logic, there.
According to Robert Ryan, a Los Angeles lawyer that KTLA seemingly found while sitting in traffic, Brown is kind of in deep shit. “His 2009 guilty plea was to a felony and also involved domestic violence. Under those circumstances, his right to own a firearm will never be restored in California.”
