For as long as Donald Trump has been saying he will build a wall along the southern border he has promised that Mexico would foot the bill for it. But now that Trump had changed his tune and what he actually wants is more of a big fence. Now that funding for the border wall has become the sticking point in a weeks-long government shutdown, President Trump told MSNBC that he “obviously” didn’t mean that Mexico was going to pay for the border wall directly. That responsibility will fall to the American taxpayers, most of whom don’t even want the wall to begin with. Another incredible lesson in the art of the deal!
