Barbra Streisand Didn't Like How Siri Pronounced Her Name, So She Called Apple and Made Them Change It

Barbra Streisand, the only living legend of stage and screen with a mall in her basement, pronounces the second “S” in her last name with a soft “S.” Say it wrong—like Apple’s A.I. personal assistant Siri does—and she will correct you, even if it means directly calling head of Apple Tim Cook to do it.

In an interview with NPR, Babs threw barbs at Siri, complaining, “She pronounces my name wrong. [It’s] Streisand with a soft S, like sand on the beach. I’ve been saying this for my whole career.”

But Barbra’s gonna live and live now! Get what she wants, she knows how! One roll for the whole shebang! One throw, that bell will go clang! Eye on the target, and wham! One shot, one gun shot, and bam! Hey, Mister Tim Cook, here she is:

“And so what did I do? I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update on 30 September,” she told NPR. “So let’s see if that happens because I will be thrilled.”

Now everyone please brighten up your Monday by imagining Barbra Streisand repeatedly shouting “WHAT’S MY NAME, SIRI?” into her iPhone with increasing fury.
