You do not want to do hard time in Texas. The lack of health care and air conditioning will take years off of your life. More then the ones you spend inside. It is atrocious. We can’t even get prisons for kids right.

Solitary confinement as it is currently used is psychological torture. No one familiar with the study of human psychology, and the reality of humans as a social animal, can possibly think that solitary confinement is anything but a horrific and counter-productive tool. Read more
