Hilary Duff Is Trying to Induce Labor By Eating the Salad

Want a baby? Eat a salad. THE salad.

Hilary Duff is expecting her second child, a baby girl with boyfriend/“Clarity” songwriter Matthew Koma and she wants that kid outta her. So much so that she’s ventured to Caioti Pizza Café in Los Angeles’ Studio City neighborhood and ordered THE Salad, which some past patrons swear induces labor. It’s something in the dressing? Seems to me that the sunshine has leaked into the brains of some southern Californians.

Duff posted a picture of the salad (before you ask: it’s romaine, watercress, walnuts, gorgonzola and some kinda balsamic vinaigrette, a fairly generic pizzeria salade) on her Instagram story Sunday and captioned it “This salad is supposed to make you go into labor…..@caioti_pizza don’t let me down.”

A Caioti Pizza Café employee explained to E! News that this isn’t some weird folklore Duff made up. Like, people actually believe this shit. “We do have a salad that supposedly makes people go into labor. They say it’s in the dressing, which is just a balsamic and there are special herbs that make women have contractions and go into labor,” the staffer said. “None of the servers know what exactly is in the ‘special herbs’ mix, only the kitchen knows.”

SPECIAL HERBS? Duff, a noted narc, is not going to be too happy when she finds out what “special herbs” usually means...

Anyway, with about ten seconds of detective work I’ve learned that this belief extends far and wide, and is well-documented on Caioti’s Instagram. Congrats to all these future moms, I’m not sure salad dressing did anything for you other than make flavorless romaine a leafy green worth ingesting.
