Finally, George Clooney Gets a Break

After 56 years of hustling from gig to gig and short-term girlfriend to short-term girlfriend, the life of actor / director / activist / friend / father / husband / liquor entrepreneur George Clooney is finally starting to come together. Amal, his wife of nearly three years, recently gave birth to the couple’s twin children, and Casamigos, his tequila brand, was just sold to English alcohol brand Diageo for one billion dollars.

CNBC reports Wednesday that Clooney is “expected to stay with the company after its acquisition” alongside the casa’s other two amigos, Michael Meldman and Rande Gerber, the similarly long-struggling husband of Cindy Crawford.

In an email to CNBC, Clooney wrote:

If you asked us four years ago if we had a billion dollar company, I don’t think we would have said yes.

Typical George, never expecting anything good to come his way.
