In an interview with The Dentonite, Jason Lee revealed that he and his wife Ceren have taken part in the cherished Hollywood tradition that is leaving the Church of Scientology. If only it were just as trendy as joining the Church in the first place.
The interviewer didn’t ask Lee point-blank about how Scientology’s been treating him—why would she want to know? But she did ask about Lee’s experience as a small-business owner in Texas, which the My Name is Earl star took as the perfect opportunity to say that, oh, by the way, he’s been de-programmed and has no plans to brainwash the good people of Denton:
“If Ceren and I had an idea for a business, it certainly wouldn’t happen at the cost of someone else’s. And being that we don’t practice Scientology, and that we aren’t particularly interested in opening religious centers in general, we have no plans to open a Scientology center. Quite a few rumors about me/us floating around but none of it’s true. We’re not here to buy up or change or take over Denton, put some kind of personal stamp on it.”
Happy someone checked on Jason Lee, and happy for him.
