How many deodorants have we lost to the whims of the dedicated public servants at the Transportation Security Administration? How many bottles of water, how many large knives, how many loaded guns and severed heads we just honest to God forgot were in there? Today, at last, all that is going to change.
In what will prove to be a tremendously bad and very funny idea, the TSA is now inviting folks to send them photos of things you’re wondering if it’s permissible to travel with.
“Simply snap a picture and send it to us,” wrote the people who are apparently not familiar with the Internet!
As Mental Floss points out, an Ask TSA Twitter account was launched last year and has so far answered some 50,000 questions from anxious travelers. I am personally excited to see how quickly and thoroughly this one goes downhill.
Update, July 31: The TSA informs us that the Ask TSA Instagram is a “spoof.” I should’ve guessed that, because of this one:
My sincere apologies to the TSA’s actual social media #brand.
