Rather than showing human emotions like empathy or sympathy, mountain of rotting whale blubber Donald Trump decided to use the massacre in Orlando as a moment of opportunism for his campaign.
Mere hours after the attack at a gay nightclub named Pulse—which occurred during the early hours of Sunday morning and claimed the lives of 50 patrons—Trump used the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history as a moment to further his well-documented Islamophobic agenda.
Trump, an adrenalized heap of bread pudding, furthered his agenda in an official statement posted on his website the same day, in which he utilized the long-debunked fear of Sharia law.
If we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country anymore. Because our leaders are weak, I said this was going to happen – and it is only going to get worse. I am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. We can’t afford to be politically correct anymore.
The terrorist, Omar Mir Saddique Mateen, is the son of an immigrant from Afghanistan who openly published his support for the Afghanistani Taliban and even tried to run for President of Afghanistan. According to Pew, 99% of people in Afghanistan support oppressive Sharia Law.
(It should be noted that the perpetrator of the attacks was born and raised in New York.)
Par for the course, the presumptive GOP nominee blamed everything on his opponent Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton wants to dramatically increase admissions from the Middle East, bringing in many hundreds of thousands during a first term – and we will have no way to screen them, pay for them, or prevent the second generation from radicalizing.
In response to her Republican contender, members of Clinton’s communications team called Trump out on his blatantly self-serving rhetoric.
“Donald Trump put out political attacks, weak platitudes and self-congratulations,” wrote Jennifer Palmieri, the director of communications for the Clinton campaign. “Trump has offered no real plans to keep our nation safe and no outreach to the Americans targeted, just insults and attacks. In times of crisis more than ever, Americans are looking for leadership and deserve better.”
