Ted Cruz, GOP presidential candidate and sinister twin of Ratigan, has publicly denied the National Enquirer’s allegations of his marital infidelity.
On the evening of April 4, Fox News’s Megyn Kelly asked Cruz at a Madison, Wisconsin town hall whether “he has ever committed adultery.” People reports that Cruz’s response was adamant:
“‘I have not,’ the Texas senator replied. ‘That attack was complete and utter garbage. It was complete lies. And it came from Donald Trump and his henchman. Those reports, they’re not a little bit true, not slightly true.’
...
‘It’s completely made-up nonsense. It’s simply not true,’ Cruz said of the article. ‘I have always been faithful to my wife. I love my wife. She’s my best friend in the world. This is the kind of garbage the Trump campaign engages in. You know why? Because they can’t debate substance.’”
Meanwhile, Trump—aka Agent Orange—claims to be uninvolved with National Enquirer’s late March report. But Cruz points out that Trump’s former political adviser Roger Stone is the sole source quoted in the piece. As Yahoo! New notes, Stone no longer works with Trump in an official capacity but, Cruz maintains, acts as “the campaign’s attack dog, spreading lies and rumors.”
In turn, Cruz remarked at the town hall that he “has no interest in” delving into Trump’s sexual indiscretions — but he readily alluded to them. “I don’t think it’s a state secret that Donald’s personal life hasn’t been immaculate,” the candidate smirked.
