Chloe Kim Is the First US Woman to Win Gold in Youth Olympics History

This is Chloe Kim, a 15-year-old snowboarder from the USA who had a history-making gold medal win on February 14 at the Youth Olympics Games. Her hobbies include “candy and shopping.” She became the first boarder under the age of 16 to win two medals at the 2015 X Games. What did you do with your one wild and precious life today?

Kim garnered her medal in the women’s halfpipe, which are helping to lead the lead the charge for Team USA’s overall ranking. She scored a 94.25—seven points higher than her top contender—on her first run, and even higher on the remaining two.

Kim posted a photo of herself on her Instagram with her fellow medalists Emily Arthur from Australia and South Korea’s Yu-rim Jeong, stating her thanks for the “amazing contest” and wishing her followers a happy Valentine’s Day.

The 2016 Youth Olympics is currently taking place in Lilliehammer, Norway, scheduled to run from February 12 to February 21.
