Jessica Chastain wants to be an action hero — not Batman’s bae or Spiderman’s aunt. Nope, she wants to be the hero herself, running around saving everyone else. What's not to love?
In a conversation captured by The Guardian, the actress shared that she’s gotten quite close to playing a superhero on film, which are all the rage in Hollywood these days, but she would’ve liked to to join The Avengers.
"I would have loved to have played Black Widow. … The problem is, if I do a superhero movie, I don't want to be the girlfriend," she went on. "I don't want to be the daughter. I want to wear a fucking cool costume with a scar on my face, with fight scenes. That's what I'd love."
I’d love it too frankly, after The Help and Zero Dark Thirty, I realized that Chastain is one of my favorite actresses. She really is a pleasure to watch and I can’t wait to see The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby this weekend with my other bae James McAvoy — hands off, he and his awkward face are mine. But if Chastain takes time off from her emotionally draining dramas to stave off a bunch of evil aliens or save Gotham City, I’m into it.
