Will Liza Minnelli approve? Emma Stone is in talks to join the Broadway revival of Cabaret this fall. Sparkly tights for everyone!
If she confirms, Stone would take over for Michelle Williams after she departs on November 9, according to the New York Times. The Magic in the Moonlight actress would play Sally Bowles in the run playing at the Roundabout Theater Company’s presentation and probably needs a good clean-up act after working with director Woody Allen, who's past is returning to rightfully haunt him. The (bottle) red-head hasn’t done theater since childhood, but every once in awhile it’s good to see if one still has the chops.
Stone would be cast alongside Alan Cummings as the M.C., Linda Emond as Fraulein Schneider and Danny Burstein as Herr Schultz. The play is set to run through January 2015.
